2 babies under 2 years old.
It won’t be that bad, I thought. Not at first anyways. Newborns sleep all the time.
Yeah, I know... how naive of me!
SOME newborns sleep all the time while others do not or only sleep when you’re holding them.
Then there’s the toddler. The one who is so easy and pleasant 1 on 1 but is still too young to understand that mommy is exhausted and you need to share now.
Babies cry. It’s what they do. It’s how they communicate. It’s not so bad when it’s one kid. Totally manageable.
BUT both of them?!? AT THE SAME TIME?!? Holy heavens, please send help!
The biggest problem I’ve encountered at this point is when they’re both hungry and want sleep... who do you feed first? It’s a catch 22.
I’d be lying if I said there hasn’t been a handful of times when both kids are crying that I haven’t joined them. I totally have.
There are a number of things I do to help manage the stress of being a mama bear to two baby bears. I’ll talk more about those things in future posts.
But in the heat of the moment I take a second and I breathe. A nice big breath. There’s a whole routine I’ve perfected.
I’ll share that with you, here
