How Am I Suppose to Cope?
Congratulations! You had a baby!

Everyone is SOOO excited to meet this new little bundle of joy.

You’re excited too… really, you are. It’s just hard to show.

Now, I’m not here today to talk about that adorable little person. I’m here to talk about YOU. 

You had a baby. Your body just did that incredible, miraculous thing— created life. 

As amazing as that is, it also leaves a path of destruction. And you get to deal with it WHILE caring for a newborn. 

How’s THAT going to happen?

Well, buckle up… it’s about to get REAL!

Postpartum depression. Baby Blues. Postpartum anxiety.

None of them are easy to deal with and ALL of them make you feel like a terrible mom.

Here’s a truth bomb… YOU’RE NOT A TERRIBLE MOM.

You’re sleep deprived, your body is healing and your hormones have dropped so low that they’re pretty much undetectable.

Hormones are pretty important and so is sleep when it comes to mood and feeling like you have your head screwed on straight. So, give yourself some grace. 

Be patient but know when to ask for help-- know the signs to look for. 

After I had both of my children, I felt like I had a one way ticket on the crazy train. I couldn’t stop crying to save my life and I felt like there was something wrong with me. 

I was ashamed. So I tried to keep it locked up inside. Which is also not good. 

Eventually, I worked up the courage to talk to my husband about it and for me, that’s all I really needed. 

For some people they need more than that. 

As if that’s not enough…all the emotions can be stressful. I know for me, feeling like something was wrong with me made me really stressed out which made everything else worse. I figured out a way to handle the stress and it took some of this pressure off. 

I’ll share it with you here because I firmly believe that us mama’s need to stick together and help each other out.
